17 day Tour Itinerary

An overview of your trip

DAY 1 Fly to Hanoi

Take a scheduled flight from the UK to Hanoi.

  • Transport: Airplane
DAY 2 Arrive Hanoi

You will be met on arrival and, transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay. The remainder of the day is at leisure to get your bearings or relax after your journey.

DAY 3 Hanoi (BL)

Explore Hanoi, spending time at the Temple of Literature, the One Pillar Pagoda and the Presidential Palace. Visit the Vietnam History Museum and the Hanoi Opera House. Stroll around the Old Quarter and watch a traditional Water Puppet Show.

DAY 4 Hanoi to Halong Bay

Journey by shuttle bus through verdant farmlands to Halong City, and board a traditional wooden junk boat for the overnight cruise on the UNESCO-listed of Halong Bay. Pass stunning rock formations, visit the dramatic Surprise Cave and explore Titov Island.

DAY 5 Halong Bay to Hue

Rise early for Tai Chi on the sundeck followed by breakfast. Then explore the Luon Cave, and enjoy brunch as the boat winds through the limestone rocks. Catch the shuttle bus back to Hanoi, for your flight to Hue. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and check-in for a two-night stay.

DAY 6 Hue

Following breakfast, enjoy a leisurely cruise along the Perfume River, stopping off at the Thien Mu Pagoda. Visit the Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden City, and end the day with some retail therapy at a vibrant local market.

DAY 7 Hue to Hoi An

Drive along the dramatic Hai Van Pass to Hoi An. This historic city is easily explored on foot, so in the afternoon, we have organised a short walking tour to help you get your bearings and discover the local area.

DAY 8 Hoi An

Day at leisure to explore Hoi An and its surrounding area. why not take advantage of one of the optional tours and experiences available, by booking a cooking class to get a true flavour of Vietnam, or enjoy a cycle ride to the local beach for a refreshing swim.

DAY 9 Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City

Following breakfast, the morning is free for last-minute explorations of Hoi An. After a tasty lunch, transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City, stopping at the Marble Mountain and the Cham Museum on the way. On arrival, you will meet your guide and be transferred to the hotel to check-in.

DAY 10 Ho Chi Minh City

Soak up the history of Dong Khoi Street on a walking tour and visit the Reunification Palace. This afternoon discover the Cu Chi Tunnels.

DAY 11 Mekong Delta

Drive to the Mekong Delta and board your boat to sail along the Ben Tre River, through picturesque mangroves. Visit a brickworks and rice paper workshop, as well as a coconut workshop and a bee garden, for some local fruit with a cup of honey tea. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon.

DAY 12 Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok

Catch your flight to Bangkok, transfer to your hotel and check-in for a two-night stay.

DAY 13 Bangkok Half Day Canal Tour

Enjoy a half-day Canal Tour on a long-tailed boat to visit the legendary Wat Arun. Relax, watching the world pass by as you meander along the waterways, taking in the sights and sounds of this fascinating region. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this bustling city at your own pace.

DAY 14 Bangkok to Kanchanaburi

Drive to Kanchanaburi, stopping on the way at the moving and poignant, Bridge Over the River Kwai, the Death Railway, war cemeteries, and the Thailand-Burma Railway Museum, before arriving at your hotel and checking in for a two-night stay.

DAY 15 Erawan Waterfall

Following breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a visit to the Erawan Waterfall. Here you can walk all the way to the top of the waterfall, or have a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters of one of the many pools.

DAY 16 Kanchanaburi to Ayutthaya

Drive to Ayutthaya, stopping at Bang Pa In Palace on the way. The palace was once used as the summer residence for the Kings of Thailand.

DAY 17 Fly to UK

After a hotel breakfast, you have time for an optional visit to the temples at Ayutthaya. Following lunch, transfer to Bangkok Airport for your return flight back to the UK.
