A popular beach resort on the south-western coast of Sri Lanka, Beruwala makes a great place to spend a few days relaxing after your tour. There is a good selection of hotels here and a lovely stretch of golden sand beach. Best for beach stays from October to April.

Known as the “Golden Mile” this pristine golden sand beach, is edged by luscious green palm groves providing much needed shade. Beruwala is known for it's excellent water sport facilities such as jet-ski's, wind surfing, parasailing and water skiing amongst others. The bay beach is particularly safe for swimming, and also offers the opportunity to try Deep-sea Fishing and Wreck & Coral Reef Diving.
The Beruwala International lighthouse is situated on picturesque Barberyn Island and surrounded by lush greenery. You can reach the island by a short boat ride, and the view from the top of the lighthouse affords stunning panoramic views of Beruwala and the surrounding area.
China Fort is Beruwala's gem trading area, with almost the entire neighbourhood being engaged in the gem trade for generations. Much of the gem world’s coloured precious stones are traded through these merchants.
The Kachimalai Mosque is said to be the oldest Islamic mosque in Sri Lanka and commemorates the arrival of the Moors during the eleventh century.
The stunning Galapata Buddhist Temple in nearby Bentota, was built in the 12th century and is home to intricately painted colourful frescoes, is a must-see site while holidaying at Beruwala.
